Two weeks ago I gifted a book to kThree on Himachal General knowledge. They stared reading it on daily bases. Some of the topics were very interesting but some of them are difficult to learn. There are many topics and questions related to Shimla town. Although they have been to many places in Shimla but they don’t remember them all. This lock-down period of more than one and half years has increased the effect. We decided to visit the main points towards Chaura Maidaan.
As usual on Sunday morning, on 15 August we got ready for our long walk. We had light breakfast (Ajvayan parantha and milk) grabbed fruits and water bottles and started the mission of Shimla Darshan at 8am. At around 9am we were at Ridge. Then we moved towards Choura Maidaan and visited various locations like Vidhaan Sabha, State Museum, Railway Station, Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Annadale ground, Radio Station, Doordarshan Kendra, Bharat Ratna Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar State Library and many more.
It was one of the longest walks with KThree of around 15 km(22000+ steps).
Here are some glimpse of the day:
