Once up on a time three fishes lived in a small pond. All of them were very good friends. One day when three friends were swimming in the pond water two fishermen noticed the fishes. The first fisherman said to his fellow,” it seems that there are a good number of fishes in this pond. We should come back tomorrow to catch the fishes here.
The fellow fisherman affirmed and they went away. The three friends overheard the conversation. The first one promptly said “let us leave this pond at the earliest possible, else we will be caught by the fishermen”, Second fish did not agree. She said, “I do not want to leave this place. It is our ancestral home. We should not leave our place even if there is a threat of death.”
Third fish do agree with the second fish and decided to stay in the pond. The first fish again tried to bring them in there right senses but in vain. The pond was connected to another lake through a narrow canal and reached the lake safely.
Next day early in the morning the fisherman came with there net and threw the net in the pond. In no time both the fishes with many other fishes were caught in the net. When the second fish sensed that she was trapped in the net, she pretended her self dead and remained lying in the net with out any movement. Where as third fish kept on moving desperately to come out of the net.
The fisherman thought that second fish was dead. So he removed her out from the lot and threw her back in the pond. Thus the second fish saved her life by her intelligence. The third fish who did not listen to the wise advice nor did she apply her own wit at the time of danger, was taken away by the fisherman.
